Font Bundle Update!

Slide1

Hello, teacher friends!

It feels like ages since I last posted, but in truth, the end of Term 2 was huge for me (and for many teachers I know, too). An 11 week term? Report-writing? Oh, boy!

It’s the holidays now, and I’m on break for two weeks. I have a few posts planned for the upcoming weeks, and the first one is an update on my font bundle on TpT! I actually have a few more updates planned for this bundle, which is discounted for the next 48 hours before I add even more fonts to my collection!

Creating fonts is quite therapeutic!

If you’re unfamiliar with my bundle, you can click on the image above, or this link here to check it out. There are currently 75 fonts exclusive to this pack, as well as 18 of my free fonts, all in one handy free download. That’s a total of 93 fonts. Early in July there will be over 100 fonts so if you purchase it before the discount ends, you get all future updates as they’re uploaded!

All of my fonts are available for commercial use with credit back to my store

You can check out this month’s updates below. Some of my favourites are MGL Rush, MGL Rushing and MGL Sunday Night!

Don’t forget to stop by and check out the Miss Galvin Learns Exclusive Font Bundle before it goes back up to full price on Thursday!

Have a wonderful day, teacher friends!

Free Font Friday Linky

Linky-FreeFontFridayBeing Summer in the U.S. there are a lot of fun linky parties happening at the moment, but I thought I’d dip my toes in with this one. (Hey, even though it’s getting colder here in Melbourne, I can still dream of warmer days and holidays can’t I?)

Every Friday, The Teaching Tribune is hosting Free Font Friday, which is a lot of fun, because who doesn’t love fonts? Especially FREE fonts?

If you’ve been on my blog for a while, you know I love to make fonts. I don’t get as much time as I used to, but I have plans (Grand Plans, maybe) to get back into making some new ones.

I thought for the purposes of this post, and the linky, that I might revisit one of my free fonts:

Freebie fonts for the classroom!

Hi all, it’s been a while.

I have been on holidays, but I confess that I’ve not been doing a whole lot (other than SHOPPING!) because I’ve really needed to decompress after the first term. Yes, it’s been one of those starts to the year.

However, I have completed all my planners for Term 2 (with the exception of my weekly breakdowns). I still have a couple of pre-tests to modify for my Grade 1s and a whole stack of laminating and cutting out to do.

But besides that I’ve done a LOT of shopping (hello, new wardrobe!) and a lot of creative writing (I write in an online game and despite starting with only one character in December I may have picked up another 2 along the way…!). I’ve also ordered my new Erin Condren planner for July 2014-June-2015 to replace my current one when it runs out this term, and I have a brand new Kikki-K Personal Planner, too, which I’m planning on using for organising the rest of my life and blogging and so forth. If you’d like pictures of those once they arrive, just let me know and I’m happy to share my attempt to get myself organised!

But, in the meantime, I have some font freebies for you!

(Note: I’m considering condensing my fonts into a single file on TpT, but that will take some time on my part. If that happens, I will let you all know!)

Title-FreebieFonts

MGL_CarrotWriter

MGL Carrot Writer is available for free in my TeachersPayTeachers store. This font is perfect for headings/titles, alphabet matching cards, etc. I wouldn’t recommend it for large chunks of text because it could appear cluttered, but it definitely works for sprucing up titles and adding a bit of seasonal flair to your activity pages! Click the image above to go directly to the download.

MGL_SmileyWriter

MGL Smiley Writer is only available on my Miss Galvin Learns Facebook page (scroll down a few posts and you’ll see the above image with a link in the comments). This was to celebrate my Facebook page reaching 2000 likes which is BEYOND THRILLING for me!

If you don’t follow me on Facebook yet, make sure you do (don’t forget to hover over the like and select Get Notifications and Add to Interests Lists to ensure you don’t miss any future freebies!

I’m hoping to be back soon with a review of the new Targeting Maths K app. I also have another Wantable Box (do people want to see it?)

Also… I’ve been floating the idea of doing a video post for my blog. Is that something you would be interested in seeing? And if so, what sort of content would you like to see (i.e.: a show and tell/demonstration of my products, a Q&A sessions, etc)?

Freebie Fridays

Christmas Down Under Blog Hop, with freebie!

Hello, my friends!

If you’re seeing this blog post then you’ve either just stumbled onto my blog through the Christmas Down Under blog hop, or you’re a regular visitor. Either way, a HUGE welcome to you all! (If you missed any previous stops, please start at Mrs. Ward’s Land of the Little Learners.)

There are a total of 8 fun blogs and pages to visit where you can find some great Aussie Christmas-themed freebies for your classrooms.

This is stop Number 7 – nearly at the end. But don’t despair – you’ll find 2 fun freebies below before you hop on to your last stop! Just click on the images to download each item.

Christmas in the Gum Trees is a great sight word practise game, featuring 220 Dolch sight words and the iconic native Aussie animal, the koala. These sight word cards are versatile – while I have outlined a specific game (where students have one group of cards, along with some Gum Leaf! cards and practise reading the sight words to keep the cards, or returning them to the pile if they pull a Gum Leaf) they can be used in multiple ways.

My second freebie for you is not a new freebie, but one some of you might have missed before:

This blog hop (and its’ freebies) will be available and open until Christmas Day, so grab them while you can!

I hope you’ve enjoyed your goodies from my blog – I’d love to hear from you (either in the comments, or via feedback on TpT). Comments make me smile!

It’s time now for you to hop along to your next, and final, stop: Rosie’s facebook page, Green Grubs Garden Club (Hug a Bug Kiwi)!

Happy Holidays!

March Currently and Freebie Font Friday

(Ok, so Freebie Font Friday is now on a Saturday… but I’ve been busy!)

I’m linking up with Farley from Oh’ Boy 4th Grade:

LISTENING: I’ve been loving listening to Of Monsters and Men, especially their song “Little Talks” which my kiddos love listening to as well. It’s got quite a fun little tune to it.

LOVING: All the math game ideas I’ve been getting from Mel (From the Pond) and Brooke (Teachable Moments). I’m really not a math person and so I find it hard to think up great little games – but these girls have been fab the last week or so. I’m spending my weekend making up some of their games and activities for my class this week!

THINKING: I’ve got a decent amount of money sitting in my Scholastic Rewards bank and I’m really considering getting an EasiSpeak microphone for my class to use. I’m thinking they could record their reading at home one night, or even in the classroom, and then I’ve got a bank of their recordings. (Also, very good for them to ‘hear’ their reading back as well.)

WANTING: I know lots of you love hot Summer weather, but I’m desperate for Winter. I loved being in the cold weather in the U.S. over Christmas. You can always put more clothes on to get warmed, but when the mercury rises you can only take off so much clothing… (and still be decent!)

NEEDING: Air-conditioning. I know we’re in Autumn now, but Melbourne gets hot, dry heat and teaching in a glass and metal building with NO air-conditioning and broken windows (that are run electronically) has not been fun for me or the kiddos.

LIKE. LOVE. HATE.: Pretty self-explanatory – I like me some silliness, and I love singing songs with the kiddos (this week we’ve been learning the Date Song and the Days of the Week song). I hate supermarkets because they’re always busy when you’re in a hurry. Like today. Sigh.

So, this week I went on a font-making binge because I’m in a terrible state of TpT writer’s block. Oh well.

(Perhaps I should have charged for my fonts? Ok, not really. They’re not THAT good, lol!)

Anywho, here are a few more goodies for YOU!

Click on the images to download the fonts from TpT!

You can also purchase MGL Spring Writer Ext for $1 which includes the accents and misc options (for a total of 195 characters, as opposed to the standard alphabet of 99 characters). I only put the charge on this one because it took a while longer to make.

Brand new MGL fonts – for FREE!

Now that I’ve recovered from my sickness (instigated by students throwing up in my classroom all week – ew!) and I feel somewhat alive again, I’ve got things for you!

It’s been a while, but I’ve got some new (and free) fonts for you all to use. As with all my other fonts you may use them for commercial use, but I do require credit (preferably with a link to my blog or TpT store).

So, without further delay, please meet:

Click on the images to download from TpT!

Have you used my free fonts before? I’d love to see how you’ve used them – please drop me a link (or two or three!). I’m planning on creating pages on this blog for each individual font with links to products they’ve been used in – think of it as a referral service, for free!

Also… experiencing a bit of TpT-block… (I know, sad, right?)

What kind of products would you like to see in the future?

I know my sight word games have always been popular, but I’d love it if you threw some ideas at me. (Must be start of year-itis!)
